Ascendancy LRP is a Live Role Playing system set on several continents. Each continent has its own unique flavour, which means there are a huge variety of types of characters that can be played within the system, examples include, pirate captains, samurai, witch hunters, fey, cowboys, time travellers, airship captains, beastkin, tribal shaman, Arabian elementals, heretical priests, gutter thieves, university professors, guild assassins and so many more.  Each character type comes from their own unique background that is both familiar enough thus so easy to get into but with enough differences to make them unique to the Ascendancy system.

Ascendancy LRP is set in a period spanning from the stone age to a period roughly equivalent to the early 1800s, so black powder weapons (pistols, muskets, rifles, and even cannon!) are in use. However, they are far more common in some continents/regions/shards than others so there is still plenty of sword play and hand to hand fighting for those who prefer that sort of thing. There is also plenty of "thinky" plot for those who would rather not get involved in fighting at all!
Our events non-linear small fest style events with player-driven multi-layered plot lines. We are very keen to include personal plot which revolves around individual characters alongside the major plot which everyone can get involved in. This, along with the friendly attitude of players and crew alike and the fact that even the most basic starting character is "hard" enough to be useful, means it is very easy to get involved from day one.
Something which we feel sets us apart from so many LRP systems is our emphasis on the role playing aspect of LRP. Yes, there are rules to the game (see the Rules section if you want to know what they are), but we like to view these as a framework which the role playing can be built upon and around, rather than as something to confine and stifle it. Good role playing will often modify events in your favour, and we'd far rather you stayed in character and reacted as seems most appropriate at the time than interrupt the feel and flow of the event for everyone by calling "Ref" to clarify every rules point.
If this sounds like fun to you, why not come along and try one of our events? We're always keen to welcome new players, and even offer a special disount for new players on certain events.
