A quiet sort of joy spreads across the Thunders as news of the upcoming winter truce passes from person to person. Some greet the news with anger however as citizens of the Sanctuary and the Shogunate remember the atrocities they feel the other side has committed.

The news passes ever onwards until it leaves the Thunders and passes throughout the world. In Jake's tavern the news reaches the ears of a grimly smiling man who rises to his feet and announces "it's time, move all units to the ships we have ten days complete stage one."

Captain Qijong Jinlow sat at rest on the command deck of his war junk. He was feeling disappointed that he was assigned to the coast watch, especially so far from the front lines. There was no chance of any glory here as the reports said that the Sanctuary fleet had been decimated by Lord Chosokabe. He smiled as another archipeligian merchant ship passed to his port side. With the damage the war had done to the Sanctuary the merchants were turning to the Shogunate to supply the goods they wanted, which meant more power to his clan as they were major silk producers. With only 3 days to the winter truce the chances of glory this season were gone.

30 miles away the merchant ship turned off the trade route heading for the Hangsha Islands where it met up with a large flotilla of archipeligian ships. Once night fell the ships all raised their sails and set off for the coast of the mainland, they had clearly practised the manoeuvre as the ships kept at least a ships length apart even though they had no running lights lit.

Jiang Qiu smiled as he felt his line tighten, he did so enjoy night fishing as it seemed easier to meet his lords quota when there were no other boats competing with him. He started to reel in his catch when a huge ship appeared out of the night. He had never seen a ship like it before as it was no junk. From the stern of the ship a voice called out in, perfect chattering cricket, "fear not fisherman for your liberation is at hand! Soon you will have sanctuary from the oppression of your lord!."

The coastal watch post of the Kamabushi clan never got word of the ships approaching, their only warning was the booming of cannon in the dark before seconds later a volley of shot destroyed the tower and everyone in it. If any had survived then warnings could have been sent as thousands of troops from every shard other than the thunders landed over the next few hours. As the troops left the boats they formed up into different sized companies and set off into the darkness. Soon troops and horses were unloaded and set off inland.

As the sun peeked over the horizon the attacks started across Shogunate lands. The troops that had left the ships used huge amounts of explosives to destroy defences and bypass the need for sieges. Lines were set up from sea shore to sea shore flying Sanctuary flags, one set of lines facing the city of Kamabushi and the other facing towards the capital of Yang Tse. Between the lines no fortification was left in Shogunate hands and every village had troops offering them a new home in the Sanctuary. As dawn rose on the first day of the winter truce the Shogunate had formed lines facing the dug in mercenaries of the Sanctuary, this war was far from over.

In the main mercenary camp happy looked at the mercenary captains "ok ladies and gentlemen the truce has started so you are now free to plot to your hearts content. Remember the rules the peasant s and their villages are not to be touched for at least a month, at that point the officials will have determined who is relocating and who is not. Once a village has decided it will be marked on my map, once the relocations are done you will be free to plot the villages to. Keep in touch and the leave schedules have been posted.
