Salem
Salem is currently not a nice place to be and anyone who wishes to play a Salemite character who's current place of residence is Salem should consult with a ref before doing so.
Most Salemites that you will meet in the AscendancyLRP (Player Character Salemites) are refugees or displaced people, who have left their homes in the face of extreme persecution from what was the Church. Its people are living in a land where any difference is regarded with suspicion, Salemites therefore dress soberly to blend in with their fellows.
Typical costume is from the 17th Century or English civil war period, think Puritan. However don't exclude other periods, the main theme of Salem is the sober dark colours, well black with more black perhaps with bit of white showing to accentuate the black, only high ranking persons might wear a splash of red or purple to show their status.
Salemites favour all types of black powder weapons, swords such as rapiers and Sabre, Halberds. Other accessories include religious symbols such as crosses and wide brimmed hats.
Since most player character Salemites are probably exiles and live mainly Union, Frontier or Archipelago they may have adopted all manner of variations into their dress.
