Events
Start and Finish Times.

Shinning cliff events are run as linears starting at roughly 10am until 5pm, these time are flexible within reason to suit player needs, for example sometimes running later on Saturday to finish slightly earlier Sunday to suit those with long journeys home. Weekend events obviously consist of 2 linear events, usually linked.

Accommodation.

No accommodation is provided, players must make thier own arrangements, or travel from their home to the event each day.

Parking.

Due to very limited car parking space we would ask you to car share as much as possible. The fewer cars you use the better also please ensure you do not block any members of the public in. Please be courteous and try not to chat too long when they ask what your doing.

What to bring.

You will need to bring all your costume and props including walking boots or sensible footwear as well as any food and drink you might require during the event.
Shinning Cliffs consist of natural woodland running around the edge of a steep sided valley with cliffs obviously, gorges, deep muddy paths in the rainy season, and very uneven terrain, so walking boots are highly recommended.

Note we usually stop for lunch during an event, returning to the car park for an out of character break.

Members of the Public.

The woodland and footpaths are open to the public, should they wonder into our path during a encounter, we may call a time freeze and stop play until they have passed.

Toilets.

There are no toilets in the vicinity so if can't use the bushes you will need to travel to a local pub or other convenience by car to use there facilities.

Directions.

From the M1 come off at Junction 28 and follow the A38 westbound towards Derby. At the Ripley take the slip road off the A38 and join A610 heading towards Ambergate & Matlock.

From Derby take the A38 towards Mansfield and the M1 and at the Ripley take the slip road off the A38 and join A610 heading towards Ambergate & Matlock.

Stay on A610 until you reach a T junction where the A610 joins the A6, turn left onto A6 towards Belper, then after about 200 yards take the next right onto a narrow lane called Holly Lane (this is also signposted YHA for the youth hostel) this will take over the river and by the cricket ground.

Stay on this road all the way to the end, about 2 miles (note Holly Lane changes to Jackass lane about half way along) the road is quite steep and narrow in places. Eventually you will reach another T junction where Jackass Lane meets Belper Road.  At this 'T' Junction go right and then right again, onto Higgs Lane.

Within 200 yards the road bends to the left, just before this bend is a parking area on your right, by a gate, hopefully someone will be there waiting for you.
